Rays Split Series with Dodgers

In the last road series before they head back to Tropicana Field, the Rays split the two game series with the Dodgers.

Game 1

In the first game of this two game series, Chris Archer took the mound for Tampa while Bud Norris pitched for Los Angeles. In the third inning, Seager had an RBI single which scored Joc Pederson. After Seager’s RBI single, another RBI single came from Turner, scoring Chase Utley. Chris Archer pitched up until the 7th inning where he gave up a home run to Yasmani Grandal, causing the Dodgers to lead 3-0. The Rays made up some ground in the top of the 8th when Brad Miller had an RBI double scoring Beckham. Following that, Forsythe scored on a wild pitch Avilan. The Rays weren’t able to make up the run deficit, with the ending score 2-3 in the Dodger’s favor.

Game 2

In the matinee finale of the series, Matt Moore took the mound against Brandon McCarthy. In the 2nd inning, Joc Pederson scored on a throwing error by Luke Maile. In the top of the 4th, Evan Longoria had a home run which scored Brad Miller who had doubled. Also in this inning Maile had an RBI double scoring Souza Jr. No one else scored for the rest of the game, leaving the Rays with a 3-1 victory over the Dodgers.
