Save the date: MLB releases 2017 schedule

Baseball in 2017 will kick off with the fourth World Baseball Classic in March followed by Opening Day festivities on April 2nd with three games slated to start the regular season. The Atlanta Braves will also open their new stadium and for the first time ever, an All Star game will be played in the state of Florida as the Miami Marlins will host the Midsummer Classic from July 9-11 at Marlins Park.

Important dates in 2017:

First games – Sunday, April 2, 2017 (NYY v TB, SF v ARI, 3rd game TBA)

Opening Day – Monday, April 3, 2017 (13 games)

Jackie Robinson Day – April 15th (70th anniversary)

All-Star Festivities – July 9-11 (Marlins Park in Miami)

20th anniversary of interleague play

Atlanta Braves open SunTrust Park on April 14th v San Diego Padres
